August 22, 2014 – #CelebrateTheSmallThings

Last time, I celebrated smiles. Honestly, I’m still smiling! This is such a great improvement for me and I am enjoying all the positives.

The first draft of my very first novel!!!

The first draft of my very first novel!!!

I’m continuing this celebration and adding a little something that makes me incredibly happy. ...I FINISHED THE NOVEL...I think. 🙂 At least it feels finished. But since this is my first novel, I really don’t know how well this is. So, I must put it aside for a while and then learn how to edit it to make it better! 🙂

While it may be rather HUGE since it’s taken me about 3 years to complete, it is rather small in the grand scheme of things.

Now, to get back to writing because, well, there’s more stories in me. I just know it. I also need to convince my muse to come back and start talking to me again. 🙂

Celebrate The Small Things is a weekly celebration where we celebrate the happenings of the week, however small or large the item in question. If you’re interested in learning more about Celebrate The Small Things, please visit their website, visit others participating, and sign up if you’re so inclined. It’s always great to see what everyone finds in their day to celebrate! And it adds to a positive outlook on life!

It is a blog hop, after all. :) <3

    Congratulations! You DID IT! 🙂
You can bask in the knowledge that you fall into the category of people who’ve actually completed the first draft of a novel (not sure of the stats, but I know there’s quite a huge difference between the number of people who have a desire to write a story, and the number of people who actually do so!)

Hooray for you! Now, to let it sit and then dive into editing. When the time comes and you need another set of eyes, I’ll be happy to lend mine.

Completing your first novel is a HUGE deal no matter what. So congrats on that 🙂

And as for the rough draft, remember, it is exactly that. It’s comforting to read of authors finally snagging an agent then having to go through rounds of edits to get it to submission to editors then more rounds of edits to final publication. It reminds me that we all start off with a diamond in the rough. With patience and polishing, we help turn our rough drafts into something incredible.
