April #WriteMotivation Update #2

The Sunrise Before The Storm
Happy Easter!
I’m slacking on my Update posts aren’t I?! Oh well. 🙂
Still dealing with meeting deadlines at work, taking TheHubs to doctor’s appointments and the ER in hopes of some relief (nada). Absolutely no time to do anything really. I’m so exhausted. My positivity is wearing so thin, I’ve caught myself frowning when I wake up. Dreams have been so vivid and mostly on the bad side. At least my pain has let up a bit…or I’m just too exhausted to care?
Last weekend I actually took someone up on their offer! YAY! Go me! One of my friends from Cub Scouts, whom I really like and I still have on Facebook, offered to help me cook after a few random complaints I made about #kitchenfail! She planned, organized, and gave me a grocery list. I went shopping and last Sunday we spent all day cooking. Oh my poor feet! She originally said I’d have enough for 15 dinners. Um…after all is said and done, we looked at it and WOW! Probably more like a month to 5 weeks because she planned like she was planning her family’s meals. She told me, “I forgot you have half the people in your family than I do.” HA! So, yeah, I got FOOD and I don’t have to worry if I pulled meat out of the freezer, trying to figure out what to make, standing there preparing and cooking, only to have a #kitchenfail again! LOL I hope we can do that again when the food stores get to dwindling. Since we’ve made all those dinners, we’ve only had 2 because of the pain, doctor visits, and ER visits.
I guess this weekend is taking care of the lawn, if the rain will let up. That picture up there at the top, that was Friday morning on my way to work. The pinks lasted all of a minute. Then the grey came in. We have flash flood and flood warnings. I am going to try to relax, catch up on TV, reading, and HOPEFULLY get back to writing! Seriously? Why can’t I do this?!!
April Goals.
- Read through my WIP. This is the first step to get back into the head of my MC and the world he lives in. I hope. So, not yet.
- Write words on WIP. Again, not yet.
- Keep up with blog posts for both blogs – this one and my Caring for My Vet. I have been taking part of the A to Z Challenge so that’s good. All posts are scheduled, and I have a guest post in process for May 4th. Don’t have anything planned yet for my Caregiver blog. But I posted something last week.
- Comment/cheer on my fellow #WriteMotivation peeps on Twitter, FB, Google+ and their blogs. With the A to Z Challenge going on, and my work and life issues, I’m seriously falling behind. 🙁
- Write motivational post for #WriteMotivation Been to a few blogs…not all.
- Continue with my positive thinking I think I’m doing good on this. But sometimes, when I’m really tired, it is such a challenge.
- Read another book. Working through Insurgent

That’s cool you and your friend did that. Always nice to not have dinner to worry about (as much as I like cooking, it can still be a hassle.)

Always a hassle for me. My knowledge of cooking is limited as is my time. Most times I forget to put something out to . Lol

Happy Easter, dear!
I’m glad you got help with cooking meals. I caved and signed up for a menu planning service because I could get a trial membership of 6 months for $5 out of pocket (I had a coupon, whee!), but it only covers M-F, so I have to figure things out of the weekends still.
But the pre-assembled grocery list is wonderful, lol.
I would love to get 4-6 weeks of dinners prepped and in the freezer at a time, and I used to, but I just haven’t had the money upfront to do all that shopping at one time. Maybe this summer!

Wow! I contemplated a service too. What did you use? I don’t mind doing the weekends. It’s really the weekdays I struggle with. Plus, my planning and organizing skills suck, not to mention actual cooking 🙂 I only know like 5 or 6 recipes. The freezer food is great but we have only had the opportunity to eat 2 meals so far because of all the doctor visits, pain, and er visits. And yeah, the up front cost blew my mind 🙁 but that’s fir a whole month. I will only have to get the essential stuff now, like milk and cereal and such.

It’s called “No More To-Go”, and I found it on Amazon Local. It was $15 for 6 months of service or $25 for 12 months, but Amazon had sent me a $10 promo code for just joining “Amazon Local”, so I opted for the 6 months and only had to pay $5 out of pocket.
Their site is nomoretogo.com, though, if you want to just poke around at it though. 🙂
