Reflecting the Positives in Me – #AtoZchallenge – O is for…

I Try To Remain Optimistic
This one is the *REAL* challenge. (In case you don’t know, I’m a wife, a MomMom, and a caregiver, while working full-time.) When everything happens all at the same time, you are bombarded with negative, you start to lose yourself, your way, your optimism. This is my life. I know the only way to get through to the other side is to seek out the positives and remember that tomorrow is another day. But some days are easier than others. My logical brain knows this. My logical brain understands that negativity kills. Positive thinking is the only way to survive. I learned this a long time ago when my husband was sent to Kosovo. I had an epiphany.
But, sometimes, my emotional brain overrules everything and I start to listen to the negative and start believing the lies it tells me. This is what happened to me recently. What got me through though is my determination to find those tiny bits of positives. It was hard. Sometimes I could not see them. But in the end, I managed. They are there. No matter if you see them or not. Have faith. Believe. And they will reveal themselves to you once again. (Here’s proof, from last year’s A to Z)

Sometimes, we just get worn down by all the stuff of life. You are strong and beautiful inside and out. Take breaks and care for yourself, too. Love your posts for the challenge!
(And, thanks for stopping by my blog. Sending you a plate of yumminess from my kitchen to yours.)

Optimism is tricky when everything is piled on. Sometimes the only thing to do is hold onto the one optimistic thought: you will survive.

How funny is it that you and I wrote about the same thing? I think those of us who have been to the brink and back can appreciate the power of optimism. You have a lot on your plate and I commend you for staying strong!

Staying positive isn’t always easy, but it’s certainly worth the effort.

Super-cool photo by a super-inspiring woman. You are stronger than you realise, and I agree, it is part of your beauty and your strength, and you sharing it with others truly *helps* others.
Holding on to optimism when it’s so much easier to see the negatives at times is one of the biggest challenges in my life. But we’re never going to succeed every second of every day. The fact that we try again, each morning, is what’s most important. <3

Recently, one thing I started doing is looking for the “no complaints” opportunity every time something negative cropped up to take me down a not-so-fulfilling emotional road. When something bothersome crashes my scene, I pull back from the need to immediately react and look for the no complain option. Some times are much harder than others, but it’s been helpful in leading me to more positive perspectives.
May you continue valuing the positives in you 🙂

The number of challenges that you face. The hardships I have watched you fight through. This is part of your beauty, part of your strength. The fact that you work to remain optimistic long after others would have thrown in the towel. Like a superhero from a comic book or an anime character destined for greatness – you remain in the battle, in spite of your wounds you get up an you move forward. This is one of the things I admire about you.
