Reflecting the Positives in Me – #AtoZchallenge – A is for…

I AM NOT ALONE And neither are you!

I AM NOT ALONE!
And neither are you!

It took me a very long time to realize this. I found it difficult to make, and keep, friends because of my situation, especially after TheHubs got out of the military. It took 15 years for me to find a group who “got it.” And now I know, I’m not alone. If you want to read how, please visit my other blog. I wrote about being/feeling Alone.

It doesn’t matter what you are going through. Everyone’s situation is unique. But, there are others out there who understand and deal with the same emotions you are going through. Don’t ever give up. Seek them out and you will find out, too, that you are not alone!

Finding friends as an adult is tough–I hear ya. I guess that’s why we hang on to friends from childhood for so long.

    • Ping from LadyJai:

Unfortunately, with my military involvement, I’ve lost all my friends…except through Facebook, but that is so not the same 🙂

  2. Ping from Lisa Buie-Collard:

One thing I like about doing this blog is how I feel not alone in this writing game I’m in. I like what you’ve done with your photos. Cool idea…

  3. Ping from Tom Benson:

A good old-fashioned and simple way of looking at an individual’s situation. Okay, it may feel individual, but how easy it is to see others who need a hand, or an ear.
    An eloquent piece.

Thank you, again. I was taught that there’s always two sides to the story. So, I take that further and try and see things from their point of view.

    Greetings, my human friend,

I’m forever telling my human, Gary, to find the pawstives in what he pawceived as negatives.

One never need feel alone. My human and I both understand the powerful gift that is empathy.

Awww thanks for stopping by my little pawpal! 😀 I tried to get my furbabies interested in your post but they tend to do what they want when they want it. I’m just their purrson. 🙂

Lady Jai, you are singing my song right now. I thought I was alone too. It was sad and heartbreaking, ugh, but once I found others like me – wow! What a relief to have a good support group. You and I travel different but similar paths.

    Be well!

Feeling alone is a had thing to conquer. For me—an introvert—I find it especially difficult to connect with people. Sure it’s easy to type a few words and communicate, but that’s only because no one can see me. But even that can become overwhelming sometimes.
Thanks for bringing light to this subject, like you, I hate having my photo taken. ;)
All the best for your A to Z journey. :)

I was there recently. It was so very hard to see through the negatives that were bombarding me every day. If you would, take the time to read my story over on my other blog and maybe, hopefully, I can shine a little light on you. *hugs*

This is so true! So many people (everyone at some time or other) struggles with this “alone” feeling. Even when we’re surrounded by others.

    Lovely post!
It makes me think of these words:”The person who tries to live alone will not succeed as a human being. His heart withers if it does not answer another heart. His mind shrinks away if he hears only the echoes of his own thoughts and finds no other inspiration.”

*hugs* I struggle with feeling alone frequently, as well, and some of it is the curse of being an introvert. I’ve not yet figured out how to ask people to be around me but not talk to me, lol.

      Introverts Unite! 😀
Yeah, I’m the same way, too. I am doing my best to come out and interact more. But at least with the internet, I can turn off the noise when I need to! 🙂

  20. Ping from Sydney Aaliyah:

Two years ago, I lived thousands of miles away from home and felt isolated and alone and then I started a blog and began to interact with others online and it kind of brought me back home.
It does wonders knowing your not alone. Great post.

Living away from family is always hard. I’ve been a part of military life since the day I was born. But it wasn’t really until we lived in Germany and I was away from my parents and the comforts of the US that I realized how hard it was. Luckily the internet is a connection for you. It wasn’t very big when I lived there. I’m sure it would be very different nowadays. 🙂

This is one HUGE challenge for me. I don’t like focusing on me. I don’t like drawing attention to me. I don’t like pictures of me. But I must eliminate the negative so the positives can shine through and I can hopefully share some smiles and positives with others. 🙂
