Final July #WriteMotivation Update

#WriteMotivation Dino

I’m re-using the image because we all need to laugh and I just can’t get enough of this picture! 🙂 <3

July goals:

1) Be Positive, Try to find the positive in every situation, no matter how small. This has got to be ALWAYS!!
Still doing this! 🙂

2) Cheer others on with #writemotivation cookie flinging and positive thoughts! Another ALWAYS!
Still doing it! If I missed your blog, fling a Dino or two! <3

3) Continue writing SOMETHING, EVERYDAY! Even if I can’t work on my novel, I’ll try my hand at short stories. Whatever it is, it has to be writing! DEFINITELY ALWAYS!
I started working on a new story, again. But with the reading, it’s taken up quite a chunk of my time. Plus my sciatic nerve has been acting up. All last week I was in pain and I didn’t know why. So I started researching and I think it’s sciatica. The only thing that I could do to relieve it was stand, but my desk was not conducive to typing and standing, so writing was out the window. That’s when I started reading. 🙂

4) find something to blog about other than these Update posts. I did reveal Bonnie’s 3rd book in her Nether Series. If you haven’t seen it, check it out! IT’S GORGEOUS, just like her others.  But I missed last week’s update. OOPS.

5) read another book. Finished up ONE by Leigh Anne Kopans and that was good. Also, won a signed ARC of THE BONE SEASON that I started. It was very intimidating at the beginning with all the new terminology, the in-depth science/sci-fi, and a glossary!  but OMG it sucked me in quick and hard! In just a week, I am half way through this 450 page book (which has put a damper on writing). It’s not due out until 20 August 2013. But I’m already recommending it!

6) Continue submitting my short story, “O.N.” O.N. is on sub. Still waiting to hear back before I can send it out again. I completed my re-write of S.S. and it’s now out for crit. I did send it out for sub since they were closing their window on 31 July until next year. So, sent it, and got a rejection back already. Will need to research more places, and hopefully get a few more crits on it? Anyone? Bueller?

  1. Ping from Valerie Lawson:

great work! love the pic, too. it cracked me up. aren’t free books fun? look forward to hearing more about this free book you won – hint, hint. keep on submitting. that’s the only way to make it to the next step. i recently got a rejection in less than 24 hours. so i just submitted another one to put some salve on that burn.

  2. Ping from Cheyenne:

Great work this month! I hope the sciatica calms down soon, but the reading is fantastic!

I heard about The Bone Season when I was at Bloomsbury for that writer’s conference. They were already pretty excited about it but I’ve read mixed reviews so far, so it’s good to hear what a friend thinks about it. I may have to check it out 🙂 Thanks for sharing!

  3. Ping from K.T. Hanna (@KTHanna):

You know hon. Reading is a huge part of writing. So even if you skip some writing every now and again, reading is just as important <3
I miss that I've had even less time than usual to be around you. You're one of my most favourite people <3 Hoping to have more time to chat in the coming months

  4. Ping from Patricia (@plynne_author):

You did awesome. Congrats. Now, on to August!

  5. Ping from Heather Jacobs:

You are a rockstar. You slayed those goals this month and your positivity is addicting! You are awesome. 🙂
