Still Can’t Manage my #WriteMotivation Updates on Mondays

#WriteMotivation Dino

While in Disney, I found our #WriteMotivation Dino! These are 2 photos Cheyenne took of me and TheDino. I just HAD to put them together because … I can’t stop giggling at TheBoy!

July goals:

1) Be Positive, Try to find the positive in every situation, no matter how small. This has got to be ALWAYS!!
Still doing this! ๐Ÿ™‚

2) Cheer others on with #writemotivation cookie flinging and positive thoughts! Another ALWAYS!
Still doing it! If I missed your blog, fling a Dino or two! <3

3) Continue writing SOMETHING, EVERYDAY! Even if I canโ€™t work on my novel, Iโ€™ll try my hand at short stories. Whatever it is, it has to be writing! DEFINITELY ALWAYS!
I took a break from my short story that was giving me fits. I started a near-complete re-write of a story I “thought” was done last year. I actually hadn’t touched it in a year when I looked at the date…almost to the day! ๐Ÿ™‚ So, I finished that up this week and felt really good about it. Once completed, I sent it out to a couple who’ve read the previous one before for crit. If you’re up for reading I could go for someone (or two) who’ve not read it before to put their eyes on it, see how it goes? Let me know. And now…trepidation sets in. *fingers crossed* I managed to make it 1000 times better! Now…need to figure out what next. ๐Ÿ™‚

4) find something to blog about other than these Update posts.ย Didn’t do that this week. Something’s been eating at me, and I want to get my 2 cents out as well, but really afraid to do so as its controversial. And I don’t like losing friends over politics/religion/social issues/whatever. ย :/

5) read another book. Still in process….slowly! I want to read it all! It’s a good book. But, between lack of sleep and forgetting my reading glasses, I’ve managed to give myself a bad headache doing so. So, it’s slow going. I still have a week or so left. ๐Ÿ™‚

6) Continue submitting my short story, โ€œO.N.โ€ Iโ€™ve got 3 rejections, letโ€™s see how many I can get before someone accepts me.ย :)ย Story is still on sub. Waiting to hear back before I can send it out again. I completed my re-write of S.S. and it’s now out for crit. When that comes back, polish and sub.
PS: can’t stop giggling at that picture! How about you?!

The picture is adorable! Yay, dinos!

Whoo-hoo! Look at all those goals you’re knocking out of the park! Well done! Keep going. I think you can totally make it. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Ping from Heather Jacobs:

    LOVE that picture. ๐Ÿ™‚

You’re kicking arse and taking names! I like it.

  3. Ping from Cheyenne:

    LOVE IT!!! ๐Ÿ˜€

Keep up with the submissions! You have the best attitude. No matter how many times we’re rejected, the important thing is to come back stronger and learn from it every single time. You can do it!

I agree with Rebekah and K.T. If you’re worried about a certain subject on your blog, I’d take that as intuition to stay away from it. Like Rebekah, I tend to take to my personal FB (which is NOT public) if I have something I just have to say. But overall, I try to keep that stuff off the internet. I guess partly out of fear of what might come back to haunt me, no matter how passionate I am about the topic. But I wouldn’t, if I were you, fear your true friends from loving you less because of your opinion. Not everyone has the same view but that shouldn’t mean the love isn’t there! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Ping from Rebekah Loper:

I agree with what KT said 100% on the controversial issue posts. That said, if you’re wanting to draw a certain crowd in to be potential readers of yours, then take that into consideration as well.

And whatever you do, make sure your posts are never impulsive responses to things happening. Make sure they are sound arguments, and not hot-headed. But I’m sure you already know this. *hugs*

As for me… I try to avoid political commentary on my blog at all. I will rant (sparingly) on my personal facebook account. I will blur the lines with religious content on my blog a bit more, but I’m also trying to reach BOTH audiences of readers with that, so I feel it’s appropriate.

And I LOVE THE PHOTO. IT IS AWESOME.

  5. Ping from K.T. Hanna (@KTHanna):

Keep it up love. Love the picture btw

As to blogging about something that’s eating at you, here is my two cents.

I’m not sure whether this is more of a personal diary blog for you, or whether you’re thinking of it as a writing blog that people will look at to find out about your writing. A lot of crap eats at me… and while I might post the occasional share on facebook, I try very hard not to rant on my blog.

My blog is not the place for that. At least, that’s how I see it. But if you’re treating this more as a diary blog… then that’s different. Then it’s not about writing, but about you and how you’re feeling and then it’s okay to say anything you want and people can be damned if they can’t be mature enough to have a difference of opinion with you <3

Much love. I know we have different opinions on a lot of things, but I love you and I won't love you less for speaking your mind.

You’re doing awesome! That picture is funny and cute.

Woot! You’re kicking butt! ๐Ÿ˜€ And I love the Dino and Boy’s photobomb! ๐Ÿ˜€
