March #WriteMotivation Goals — Final Week

Here’s my March Goals:
1) Be Positive. This has been the biggest issue for me over the last couple of months. I REALLY need to work on it!
2) Encourage others to be positive and continue to make progress.
3) Continue writing. Progress is progress, one word at a time. It’s just infuriating when you fail to get anywhere because of, well, life.
4) I’m adding this after the fact: Read another book for pleasure. I seem to be able to manage a book in a month, or so–given the circumstances.
So, I’ve been trying to be positive, cheer others on to being positive. I helped a friend in the morning, then got slapped in the face for trying to help another friend in the afternoon. So I guess it evened itself out. <—there’s my positive in that situation! I’ve got a whole month of positive Post-it Notes coming in April to help cheer you and me on! I hope they help someone!
I managed to make progress in my writing, a bit more yesterday than today. So, here’s to progress and let’s make some more! Though, I did have to write a cover letter and update my resume for an application I submitted. Talk about stress! Hitting that submit button on the job app sure did produce a MASSIVE panic attack. See, with sequestration looming over our heads, I’m worried about my job. Even though I work for Hewlett-Packard, I am still a contractor for the government. And even if the Defense Spending cuts don’t affect me with sequestration, my contract is up for renewal at the end of the fiscal year. And just because someone else may win the contract, doesn’t guarantee a position with the new company. I’ve been there too many times to “feel safe.” So, I’ve applied at a 100% non-government job. Scary as hell, mind you. But we’ll see. They may not offer me a position. If they do, they may not be able to meet my salary requirements. I’d have to move, again. Selling a house, hoping the school system can meet my son’s educational needs as well as his extras, all just scares me. I am NOT taking another pay cut. I’ve seen too many of those over the years. So, yeah, MASSIVE PANIC ensued, causing more blockage. So, I’m happy with what progress I did manage.
And, I’m nearly done reading the book I started at the beginning of the month!
If only there were enough time in the day.

Ouch – slap in the face for trying to help – what a blow, but at least it gave you an intro to this post. I am focusing on positives words for the A-Z challenge too and will be sharing some of the stories inspired by a little deck of magic spirit cards I bought many years ago. I really like the idea of post it quotes – or notes 🙂 good luck with your job search and see you in a couple of days 🙂

WOW! I’m sorry I totally missed this whole new-job-app thing somehow, but best wishes and I hope it works out! I’m glad to hear you found something to shoot for… that’s very encouraging in itself! I’ll be praying.
And I can’t wait for your A-Z either 🙂 Woohoo!

Yikes! My fingers are crossed for you. New jobs are always scary and I hope you find one that fits.
Is it A to Z time yet? I swear this last week is taking forever. I want the challenge to start.
