Pinewood Derby & #WriteMotivation
This weekend was completely insane. It started at 7am on Saturday for the Cub Scout’s Pinewood Derby race. This was by far the best one we’ve attended so far. But, I was standing the whole 6 hours. ๐ And, with a locked up neck. Son tied for 3rd so they had a run off. He lost that by aย smidgen. But still 4th place is good! Although he wanted to go to District. That was reserved for 1st-3rd place. Here’s some pictures of the cars and track, and a quick video for your enjoyment.
My old car accident injury flared up and decided to pinch my nerve so bad I couldn’t move my head to look left at all. It was so painful I was nearly in tears. But heat and relaxation (after the Derby of course) has helped, nowhere near as quickly as I would like. Guess old age is a bummer ๐
- Continue with my daily writer-ly duties.ย This past weekend has proven to be a challenge. However, I wrote one sentence each day, while lying in bed on a heating pad. ๐ That’s progress, right? hehe
- By March 20th, I would like to complete and submit another story to the 713 Flash call atย KazkaPress.ย Yesterday andย today, I’ve been editing a short ย story I wrote about 9 months ago so I can get back into that mindset. This month’s prompt reminded me a lot of this short story and I wanted to make a companion piece to it.
- regular blog posts. I’m writing today’s blog post for #writemotivation. So that’s good ๐
- I would like to read another book this month. Haven’t been reading lately. I’ve gotten a few recommendations, I just haven’t looked to see if I have them yet. If not, I will have to make a trip to the library.

I’m so sorry you have had trouble with your neck, that’s no fun at all.
You can bottle motivation to write?? Gosh! Maybe that’s what I need! ๐

I hope that old injury is calming down! Take care!

I’m sorry to hear about your neck! Hopefully it continues to get better. And yes, one sentence is one sentence more than you had the day before, so it’s progress and you should be proud. What’s the saying that if you write only a single page a day, you’d still easily have a novel complete in a year? Sometimes we have to tackle our writing in bit-sized pieces, but it always brings us closer to our goals. =)

So sorry to hear about your neck (I know that pain!!!). Congrats to your son on such a great job with the Pine Derby. Mine had his a couple weeks ago and it was a blast.

Bottled #writemotivation? Yes please!
And yes, if one sentence is all you can manage, it’s better than nothing!
